After coronary heart diseases, valvular heart diseases are the most prevalent category in heart diseases. Despite recent efforts in improving public health, we are still dealing with valvular heart disease like rheumatic heart all over the country.

In the other hand as the mean population age is raising, more degenerative valvular diseases show up.

Other etiologies like congenital heart disease, ischemic heart disease and structural heart disease also cause valvular problems.

Considering all above, we importunately need to prevent, diagnose and treat our patients. In order to do so, Rajaei Cardiovascular Medical and Research Center as the center of excellence in cardiovascular medicine in our country, decided to establish Heart Valve Disease Research Center in 2010.

Here in Rajaei heart valve disease research center we try our best to improve public health by raising public awareness, researching and educating our physicians.
